Governments Strangely Silent on Virus
VictimsBut Corps Fight Over Vaccine Rights There have been absolutely no official reports on the spread and death toll from the virus in nearly two months, leading to speculation that news has been manipulated by greedy corporations from the beginning. The role of the tiny Samsun Universal has been questioned from the beginning. Samsun was in a period of "restructuring" when it took on the job of identifying a cure for the Letifer Virus. According to releases from Samsun and Quantar sources, the results of clinical tests were promising. Since that time 60 days ago, there has been absolutely no news of the supposed epidemic on Kapenja, but there has been a number of skirmishes between the three corporation (and their supporters) vying for rights to produce the Samsun serum. Cromforge Enterprises, Octave Propulsion and Tens & Piney are
the organizations who have placed bids with Samsun -- none of whom specialize in biotech.
The controversy about Geneticorp came to an abrupt halt on 105.3.5, when forces organized by The Fourth Tribe were able to gain entrance to the Geneticorp. Laboratory station and detonate a nuclear device, completely destroying the station. The Solrain shuttle 01shuttle was observes leaving Geneticorp HQ just before the explosion. Attempts to contact the pilot of the shuttle were unsuccessful, and it was able to leave Hyperial sector undetected. According to UUNN releases, "The rumor mill at SolCore is abuzz that some of Nifirti's equipment, which had been lost with shuttle01's capture, was rebuilt and repurchased at SC last night. The nature of said equipment is unknown as is whether or not he had time to use it before his station was destroyed around him a mere 24 hours later." 01Shuttle was seen on several subsequent occasions. The shuttle attacked ships randomly and the little communication coming from the ship was mostly gibberish with a few odd Latin phrases mixed-in. It is not known whether Geneticorp founder, Dr. Glasgow Nifirti,
survived the explosion.
In a somewhat surprising development,
Venurian Prospecting announced the release of a new piece of equipment known as the
"Fuel Scoop." Research and development of the fuel scoop was done with
complete secrecy and the release caught pilots, governments and news agencies by complete
surprise. The Fuel scoop is a modx that allows ships to extract certain minerals and gases from the various storms that course through space.
Production facilities are located at Corridor station. Raw materials needed to produce the Fuel Scoop are Composites, Machines Parts, Magnetics and Power Converters. |

exclusive feature! Since I keep finding
myself tempted to talk about my plans for the warfare system in the official forums, I've
decided to provide in my next columns for Darkspace Dispatch a broad picture of what is
forthcoming. I make no representation that this description will be complete or thorough,
since new wrinkles are surfacing all the time as I work. Please don't take this as gospel,
or promises: I'd just like to shed some light for everyone on the moving target that is
the work in progress. I'm also working on a couple of "pie-in-the-sky" ideas
that I won't even describe. They'll either become part of the system or I'll decide they
are impossible to implement and stop wasting time on them.
WANT TO GET INVOLVED WITH DARKSPACE DISPATCH? If you have story/article ideas, or any other kind of suggestions, let us know! Volunteers to write stories and articles, create artwork, take screenshots of "storyline" and "news" events (even videos!), or record (voice) sidebar reports on some of the key stories -- ALL would be welcome. If
you either WANT to receive Darkspace Dispatch by email
or WANT TO BE REMOVED from the mailing list simply email us:

| Evil Asteroid (Darkspace Dispatch will be featuring the classic comic strip "Evil Asteroid." Although some of you have already enjoyed these comics when they were originally published, we wanted to re-run them as we believe them to be both hilarious and timeless.)

Betrayal ....and after a few more moments Arouin didnīt get the inevitable; he got what he expected. The missiles slammed into his ship unarmed, the fried shield generator letting them smash into the delicate paintwork on the outside of his Raven. He winced slightly as one of the Lanceīs slammed home with a metallic crash, leaving a ringing in his ears as the ship reverberated. His tankard fell to the floor with a clatter, and as he leant over the edge of his seat to retrieve it from where it had fallen, the overhead compartment snapped open as a Kataka smashed into the side of the ship. Fending off falling boxes of rations he groped for the comms key, grasped it, then hammered at it yelling into his helmet pickup. "Cut out the god damn missiles Voris itīs me you bloody idiot! My shield genīs toasty and youīve just demolished a rather nice paint job on my bird!" There was a crackle from the comm unit and then a rasping cough. "Heh, sorry old friend, you canīt be too sure these days, can you?" Arouin sighed and slumped back into the chair, wiping off the remains of a packet of spicy sauce that had exploded over his tunic. "No, I guess you canīt... well, Iīm waiting, gimme some rings" "Okay... (Jurhern, turn on the rings, tightband to our guy in the Raven... oh you bloody idiot.. give that here... there...) Okay, done, see ya in a few minutes buddy" |
