Cornea Weathers Storm of Sentient Led Attacks

Solrain Cornea (TRI-FP) - In recent days Solrain's Cornea, a Bravo class station and its surrounding sector have weathered multiple waves of Sentient Conflux attacks that have brought turmoil to the region. Often classed as Solrain's backwater station due to its low profit margins, the STCC have heaped praise upon the crews of the Cornea station itself and of the surrounding buildings and factories who have all responded bravely and professionally to the emergency. The STCC have also praised the swift response of pilot defence teams that rallied to the stricken sectors aid.
Each of these assaults against the Cornea sector has occurred following sporadic sightings of C0 Jellyfish throughout known space. Shortly after these sightings were reported, Conflux infestations were seen to have formed in the sectors linking trade routes to Cornea, effectively isolating the station for brief periods of time. It is believed that the anomaly within the Outer Depths sector has been the point of entry for the Sentients for each of the incursions, a deduction made from the direction of their attack, its at the time un-tuned status and the patterns of the infestations that have so far always left the Jumpgate between the two sectors clear during an strike.

Solrain Core (TRI-FP) - Pilots have begun reporting changes in Conflux spawn patterns over the last few days. Of note is that fact while many spawn changes have been minor, in a few sectors, such as The Azure Churn, the changes have been dramatic.
"I have personally investigated, encountered and repeatedly destroyed Conflux up to C12 Phoc's in Azure churn, an adaptation of the flux no doubt measured to hinder the short trade route between Wake and Cornea," said Conflux-killing expert vorlon31.
In a report to OPL CEO and former Octavian Legate, Triarius, pilot Moody said, "After a look at the map I'm afraid to say that they are moving closer to our Home World."

Solrain Core (TRI-FP) - Sources within the STCC and the Octavian Ministry of War have confirmed reception of a new communique from Amananth, presumably by the governments of all three factions. "Amananth's statement was much more somber than usual," described Dr Calatorius, "I refuse to quote it directly here, but I implore my counterparts in Solrain and Quantar to recall my prior offer of a council. We must collaborate to address the Conflux threat."
A source close to the STCC, who refused to be named, hinted that the recent show of force in Hyperial space by the Conflux, with a series of gate infestations and a severe and long-lasting particle storm, may represent the shape of things to come. "This would be highly disruptive to trade," our contact stated.

TRI-HQ (TRI-FP) - The lack of sentient activity last night, following several days of raids and probes has many people wondering if this is the calm before the storm that was predicted by Dr Calatorius.
TRINN has received several reports of light sentient activity, over the past week, similar to this one from vorlon31 from 107.04.01:

Outpost (TRI-FP) - Dr Calatorius, head of the Conflux studies group at the Octavian Ministry of War, has released a prediction what he calls an imminent major attack against factional assets.
"Over the last few days, we have seen a significant increase in small scale attacks by sentient Conflux," stated Calatorius. "While details of these attacks are sketchy, due to lack of pilot reports, there has been no direct attacks on our infrastructure. In addition, these attacks have been led by light, fast units, indicating a high probability that we are being probed. We believe that these attacks are testing our defenses and reaction time.

Cornea (TRI-FP) - With the STCC and TRI working together to encourage pilots to keep space lanes free of Conflux around Cornea, Solrain factional squad Solidarity has upped the ante by offering an additional bounty on Conflux Sentients and their biomass.
"I'm going to offer a bounty of 500k on any Sentient killed in Solrain space (over and above the standard TRI bounty)," stated ZeroZ95 for Solidarity. "If I am not present, any member of Solidarity who can verify the kill can pay you on the spot (I will pay them back later)."

TRI-HQ (TRI-FP) - Pilot Reece has submitted the following account of the recent Sentient attack centered around Solrain space.
"At about 6 p.m. Ekoos KTRI alerted us that the Defense Condition had been elevated from 3 to 2, and that the command hive was in C-2204. I got in contact with some people in Amananth who were going to try to nuke the command hive. I didn't go in a bomber. I was going to try to obtain sentient biomass.
"The C-2204 had some pretty major flux coming out of it, of the nonsentient variety. The last thing I saw before the pod ride was my target indicator screaming C-25!!!
"After the pod ride, I felt that the chances of the hive being destroyed were pretty slim, so I started tuning beacons in case I was right. I went across unreg through pulsar and to Amananth from Solrain space. While I was going through Aman space, pilots in Amananth sector reported that the Aman Leap gate had been infested.

Corridor (TRI-FP) - A pair of C17-S "Lamprey" conflux sentients infiltrated Quantar space yesterday evening, and managed to cause significant damage to several buildings at Corridor and Quantar Core. The Khamsin heavy miner naval yard was totally destroyed, along with the Abattis science factory at Corridor. The Glaive producer at QC took mild damage. A second attack was thwarted after the new command hive was quickly destroyed.
"The destruction of the buildings, and especially the Khamsin yard will no doubt provide a negative medium term impact into the economy," stated Corridor Governor Sathama Randi. "Our more short term need however, is to ensure sufficient hulls are available for the Aristio Cup race in a few days. We have already taken steps to contact the Octavian government, to see if they are willing to release the TRI mission slot, and are in active negotiations with several private groups to provide materials. We fully expect the Khamsin to be available by the end of the week, one way or another."
When asked for a comment, the Octavian government just replied, "We are looking for a polite way to say no."

Outpost (TRI-FP) - Sentient C17-S "Lamprey" conflux were able to enter TRI space yesterday, and raid structures located at Outpost station. The Maul custom producer as well as the Chiropteran naval yard were totally destroyed in the attack.
"The loss of our medium fighter is unfortunate," stated Governor Zenobia Zvera. "Despite the efforts of pilots from OV, the sentients just appeared out of nowhere and overwhelmed our defenses. Of course, Calatorius says that if the beacons between Outpost and Mokk's had been tuned, its possible that the attack may have been directed elsewhere, or we would have received more advanced warning, but I'm not so sure, myself. They seemed very determined to destroy the Maul producer."

TRI-HQ (TRI-FP) - After several weeks of great success in attacking command hives within conflux space, and averting any major attacks, recent strikes have met with increasing resistance, including what can only be construed as a deliberate trap, set last night, by sentient forces.
Dr Calatorius forwarded us this report from pilot JoeStraz, along with a medal nomination for a TRINN Star.
"It looks like the sents are learning about our CLAWS warning system and adapting. I have limited experience in hive attacks but the last 2 nights have seen some interesting developments.

TRI HQ (TRI-FP) - With the budget complete and accounted for, New Dawn pilot LupinOne has announced that project Operation Nutcracker is online, and ready to go.
"On 105.11.24, I announced plans for Operation Nutcracker, a dedicated mission to destroy the Conflux Command and Control network in key sectors of their home space. During the course of several high-level meetings and intelligence briefs subsequent to that initial announcement, the Octavian Ministry of War made public on 106.01.04 that the Conflux Command Code had been cracked.
"We now had the tools to take the fight to the conflux instead of being reactionary. With the new alerting system, pilots could now mount Alpha Strikes deep into Conflux Space and destroy the Conflux Command Center before the Sentients could launch their strike against us, thus preventing the attack and keeping TRI and factional assets safe.

Solrain Core (TRI-FP) - Sentient conflux C17-S "Lamprey" moved into Solrain space last night, destroying the Sabre facility at Wake, and the RB-1 and RB2 facilities at Solrain Core. The raid was stopped when the attack moved to Quantar core.
"This attack should never of happened," stated a clearly irate Phelix Cormonra, governor of Solrain Core. "Even after more than a two hour warning, Solrain space remained untuned, and open to attack. To make matters worse, TRI pilots allowed their factional politics to stand in the way of lending assistance, once the attack was underway. One Quantar pilot was even heard to offer Solrain space to the conflux, in return for leaving Quantar space alone!"
Indeed, Brotherhood pilot Gogo was heard to say: "I suggest we offer the conflux ALL of Sol space in return for a promise that they will stay away from Quan space".

Octavius Core (TRI-FP) - In a brief statement today, the Octavian Ministry of War has announced a program that will offer a reward to the pilot who destroys a command hive, as identified by the CLAWS array.
"Very simply," stated Dr Calatorius, "The Ministry of War will reward the pilot who destroys a command hive (that is identified by CLAWS) with 25 million credits. Pilots who destroy hives should claim the reward by providing pertinent information directly to me."

Octavius Core (TRI-FP) - Earlier today, the Octavian Ministry of War released a statement regarding the recent damage caused by sentient conflux attacks.
"The Ministry of War is now convinced that the recent attacks are part of a new offensive campaign by the conflux," stated Dr. Calatorius. "Clearly, they cannot match Octavian, or even other TRI pilots in direct combat, so our analysis indicates that they have deployed new weaponry for the sole purpose of destroying key production facilities. The destruction of the RB-3, Biomass and Antiflux facilities are key examples of their strategy. The Antiflux facility was clearly destroyed to make it harder for miners and haulers to traverse more dangerous parts of space, the Biomass producer was destroyed with the intent to slow down nuclear missile production, and the RB facility was hit to reduce the likelihood of buildings being repaired while under attack.
"We see this pattern continuing, with key targets being the Maul, Glaive and Sabre facilities, along with the other RB facilities.
