Hallucinations Attributed to Contaminated Oct Lite

Great Pillars Station - According to sources within the Octavian Science Foundation (OSF), the recent flurry of reports of Great Pillars station-staffers and pilots having visual and auditory hallucinations has been attributed to a contaminated keg of Oct Lite at the famous Cabana Room night club. "I've seen a lot of weird stuff go on here over the years," said long-time Cabana Room bartender Harv Cervisia, "but this really creeped me out. Guys were yelling, crying, rolling on the ground and holding their ears. One started shooting the place up with a blaster. I had to take him out - the poor bastard."
OSF scientists found traces of Claviceps mold in just one keg at the Cabana Room. While intentional contamination has not been ruled out, most officials feel that the economic downturn resulting in fewer and fewer pilots coming to The Cabana Room resulted in the one keg inadvertently being kept long past its expiration.
"Things just haven't been the same around here since The Crazy Coyote stopped featuring us in his JPR broadcasts," said bartender Cervisia.

Quantar Initiates Mercenary Registration Program

Quantar Core (TRI-FP) - The Tahirs today released an announcement that, because of increasing security concerns, Quantar is initiating a Mercenary registry program. The Tahirs hope that Quantar pilots who were unwilling to commit to a military tour of duty will be interested in offering their services as Mercenaries, increasing the number of pilots defending Quantar space and interests.
While Mercenary "tags" will allow these pilots to engage enemy pilots without penalty, they do not offer the financial benefits of Military insurance subsidies or Military Missions, nor do Optimus-ranked Mercenaries have access to Military Map recon reports. The Mercenary registry can, however, be changed at any time at any Quantar station. Mercenaries are also able to tune or alter beacons that have already been tuned.

First Tahir Assassinated on Quantar Core

Quantar Core (TRI-FP) - Queliar Neamru, who has been Quantar's First Tahir for more than ten years, was assassinated this morning, 110.1.14, at 07:22 Ekoos Time (12:22 GMT), coming out of the Tahirs' private chapel on Quantar Core station.
It is believed the assassin, a sniper, fired a single lethal shot from the mezzanine area that overlooks the chapel. Despite there being over seventy people in the area when the shot rang out, no witnesses have come forward claiming to have seen the sniper. Although no one was apprehended at the scene, a weapon was recovered. Quantar Security has released no details about the weapon or any leads it may have at this time.

Quantar Core (TRI-FP) - In stark contrast to the goodwill message broadcast by TRINN on behalf of the Emperors, Tahirs and STCC Council Members, TRINN has now received word that during the festivities that heralded in the new year, forces as yet unknown attacked and destroyed the Vantage Long Range Mortar Science Factory in Quantar's Tictac's Hook sector. Details at present are sketchy as no witness reports have been forthcoming but it is understood that T&P officials who were on a seasonal break with their families at the time, have been called back to work and are demanding an immediate investigation into the building's destruction.

Solrain Core (TRI-FP) - In an extremely rare demonstration of cooperation, Octavius, Quantar and Solrain leaders released the following New Year's message:
As our people move into this 111th year AT, we would like all to take a moment, together, to be thankful for the year just past, and to celebrate, with much anticipation the coming year. Although we have differences far too great to bridge permanently right now, in this moment we find common ground to wish three things that best represent each of our factions separately.
So as we move into year 111, we the Emperors, Tahirs and STCC Council Members, wish ALL of our collective peoples: Strength, Conviction and Prosperity.
The New Year is one of the few holidays celebrated by all factions, and diverse traditional celebrations will be held both dirtside as well as sky-side. With the "official" New Year being marked a 110.12.31:24:00 GBS Time (GMT), 19:00 Ekoos Time -- though, traditionally, all time zones hold their own celebrations as the new year dawns on them.

Quantar High Defender Steps Down

Quantar Core (TRI-FP) -- In a somewhat surprising move, Quantar High Defender of the Faith, Rohi bin Hamalzahd, announced today that he has resigned from his appointment as Quantar's High Defender of the Faith. Rohi had had recent disputes both with the Tahirs as well as with squad QSSP -- currently Quantar's largest active squad.
In a farewell message, Rohi said "It has become eminently clear to me that the Quantar pilot of today is nothing like the ones led ages ago in the first Jihad al Din by Oruzor the last High Defender. Today, there is no respect for the Office, and our pilots are more interested in kill counts than the good of Hamalzah's Chosen People" -- a clear reference to his recent troubles with QSSP ending one QSSP pilot disregarding and order from Rohi, and another shooting him down.

Quantar Core (TRI-FP) - At approximately 13:00 Ekoo's Standard Time pilots from QSSP became aware that the pro-Hyperial terrorist organization Amber Flame had tuned the beacons throughout much of Quantar space to Octavian frequencies. They quickly mobilized their fighters in order to dispatch the Amber Flame pilots. After the first couple of skirmishes, Rohi, Quantar's High Defender of the Faith, mentioned the beacons across Quantar's private communication channels and QSSP pilots joined with him in defending Quantar space from the invading fleet. Solrain pilot McPlowed of the squad Mor-Rioghain had announced his intentions of joining the Quantar fleet to fight against Amber Flame and began heading down to Quantar space.
After further engagements with Amber Flame, the Quantar fleet had battled Amber Flame back to Klatches Hold station. Shortly thereafter, at approximately 16:30 Ekoo's Standard Time, additional QSSP pilots joined the Quantar fleet and they now significantly outnumbered Amber Flame pilots. Pilot Lobruk noticed that McPlowed, a Solrain military pilot was flying through Quantar space unaware of the current arrangement between the Quantar forces and the Solrain pilot. He moved to engage McPlowed despite Rohi's instructions over the sector-wide, public communications channel to stand down.

Solrain Cornea (TRI-FP) - On the evening of 110.11.12, Octavians, with Quantar support, mounted an extended siege of the Proximity Fuse factory in Cornea station sector - a siege which after almost five hours of fighting, resulted in the destruction of the factory. Octavian pilots Baal, Eldracor and Neva broke through for the final bombing run, escorted by a Quantar detachment from QSSP that included Sephiroth and Lobruk.
According the Octavian sources, the attack orders came directly from the Octavian Supreme Military Strategist, Legate Lucanus. The Octs and Quants staged their attack from Klatsches Hold and launched the initial attack at approximately 22:30 GBS time, about a half hour after the factory shields malfunctioned.
All reports indicate that the Solrains had intel that the attack was coming, and that they were well prepared with beacons well-tuned and patrols well-staffed. The Sols were able to turn back the initial waves of the assault, with nothing making its way through to Cornea.

Quantar Core (TRI-FP) - The fifth and final race in the Aristio Cup series, The Cromforge Enterprises 450, was held on 110.10.17 at 15:00 Ekoos Time. For this event, the racers started at Quantar Core Station. Pilots then proceed to Corridor Station sector where they docked for a mandatory pit stop. There they acquired a quantity of Indium and made for TriPoint Station, the second mandatory pit stop, where racers offloaded their cargo and then proceeded to the finish line back at Quantar Core Station.
There was some difficulty for pilot -DT- with defense droids but he was able to participate. The Quantar Defense Droids caused him the most damage when he arrived for the race. However, this probably allowed him to run the course a little faster than he otherwise might with full complement of armour.

One of our agents infiltrated the Solrain Military and struck at the heart of Quantar by destroying the damaged Tempest Naval Yard at approximately 20:42 Pulsar Time.
QSSP pilot Baius was in the process of repairing the Naval Yard when the first barrage of the nuclear strike hit and his ship was destroyed in the blast.
This was done by the members of Amber Flame for the Glory of Hyperial - and we will strike again.

Quantar Tripoint (TRI-FP) - TRINN has received reports that on 110.10.12 at approximately 22:15 Ekoo's Time, KTRI sent out an announcement that a building was under attack in Tripoint sector.
Pilots Regan and Baius immediately went to investigate, but found no evidence of an attacker. According to pilot reports, there was no Sentient marker in Tripoint sector. It is unclear as to whether there were any NUCLEAR ALERT warnings prior to the attack, but beacons in nearby sectors were tuned Octavian Red, so the only warning would have been in Tripoint sector.
No yard workers were injured in the attack, but the facility did sustain significant damage and has been shut down until repair work can be completed.

Quantar Core (TRI-FP) -- Just two days after Rohi bin Hamalzahd had called the response of Quantar to the Duelist crisis "deplorable," two Quantar Tahirs broke their silence and offered their perspectives.
"Rohi is a very passionate man," said Second Tahir Penjia Neamru. "It is a great asset for him as High Defender of the Faith. Sometimes it's a less-good asset when your job is governing Quantar and ensuring the continued prosperity of our Holy People."
When asked to comment on the Second Tahir's statement, an agitated Third Tahir, Sandokhan Neamru, said, "Penjia is too soft on Rohi. Her past 'friendship' with him taints her objectivity. WE appointed bin Hamalzahd to to do a job. Maybe if he focused more on that we would not have Solrain fighters coming to Quantar Core with repair beams to foil our intentions for the Recycler. Maybe if he spent more time DEFENDING we'd have fewer heretics flying with impunity in our space with nuclear missiles!"
First Tahir Queliar Neamru declined to comment.

Quantar Core (TRI-FP) - In an impromptu news conference on Tripoint Station, the Quantar High Defender of the Faith Rohi bin Hamalzahd called the Tahirs' handling of the Duelist crisis on Quantar and the fights over the recycling facility in QC sector, "deplorable."
"We Quantar are a people of strong faith and quick action and the Fa'hil Memta demonstrated neither in the last few weeks. Decisions which should have been clear and actions which should have been decisive did not happen. There is too much bureaucratic discussion and voting and negotiating when what is needed is deep meditation and prayer - this clarifies the mind and crystallizes the needed action. Thank Hamalzah for the quick action of our QSSP brothers and sisters. They were the true Quantar in this crisis."
No questions were taken as Rohi quickly exited the conference room and took off in his ship shortly thereafter.
A spokesperson for the Fa'hil Memta said that that Tahirs would have no comment at this time.

Quantar Officials Put Indefinite Hold on Recycler

Quantar Core (TRI-FP) - Quantar officials announced today that the controversial ModX Recycling Facility in Quantar Core Sector will remain shut down for the foreseeable future.
"We've decided that allowing the recycler to be reopened now, at a time when pilots continue to counter all efforts to restore Duelist supplies, would be absolutely foolish," said Quantar Speaker, Jarwahaal. "The Tahirs have given this quite a bit of thought and have come to conclusion that, in this case, the risks far outweigh any possible benefits." Jarwahaal also said that the Tahirs were in ongoing discussions with TRI Industries, operators of the facility, on a long-term resolution to the recycler abuse problem, with one of the options being re-purposing of the facility.
